Home Solar Panels - Learn How to Reduce Electricity Bills and Save The Environment

There isn’t one person on this planet who isn’t aware that our non renewable energy sources are quickly becoming depleted. This means that everyone is trying to their bit for the environment and make eco friendly choices about how they heat and run their homes. Some people chose energy suppliers who are using wind turbines; others try to save what they can when they can, but some are looking to the sky for their inspiration.

The sun is quickly becoming the easiest and cheapest way to supply your home with power whilst still being environmentally friendly. Home solar panels are popping up on houses throughout all type of neighbourhoods.

A common misconception is that home solar panels can be expensive and unsightly. The truth of the matter is that home solar panels are becoming more and more affordable with the demand for them sky rocketing and that most will not be able to tell that you have installed solar panels – unless your house guests usually pop round using their helicopter.

There are two different types of home solar panels; one for hot water and the other for supplying your home with electricity.

Heating your water with home solar panels could save you between 50% – 70% on your annual hot water requirements. Once installed, the cost for heating this water is virtually free!

This works simply by converting light into heat and t his in turn heats your water. In the summer months you need not heat your water in the conventional methods at all. Many people believe that if you live in a country that doesn’t get much sunshine, England for example, that home solar panels will not work for you - but this is just not the case. Thankfully, this system works on light, not heat and so everyone can use solar panels to save them money and it is also much, much kinder to the environment. Perfect!

For home solar panels that convert light into electricity a special type of panel is used; photovoltaic(PV) which create electricity without creating any waste or emissions.

There are many ways that you can kit out your home with solar panels. You just pick the way that suits you the best.

There are many companies, frequently linked to companies that make and supply windows that now offer solar panels to be fitted as well. These can vary in price, but they will measure your household needs and create and install the right amount of panels for you. This obviously saves you time and effort – but unfortunately not money – that will come from the huge reductions that you will see in your energy bills.

For those of you who are keen to get involved with the whole process, you are now able to create your own solar panels and install them yourself. Obviously this will take more work and effort, but it will save you a considerable amount of money.

Whether you chose a well known company to install home solar panels for you or you grab yourself a DIY kit, one thing is for certain; you will see a massive increase in the amount of disposable cash you have thanks to the savings you will be making and you will know that you are helping the environment in the process.
